Hi Frnds,
It was about 15-16 yrs back when we met, i was in 3rd std. i was among the top students (surprised, right? but it's true) and he was top among the back benchers,we used to hate each other as i was a mamma's boy and was told right from the beginning to be only with the sharp students and not at all with the back benchers, who come to school and get beaten up by teachers and at home they waste their time in flying kites( no wonder why i got beaten up manier times but never got a chance to fly kites).
So, i was talking about this dude. as i have told you earlier that i was a good student in the class (i like this fact too much as i can't stop myself from repeating it), so i was quite fascinated with my self that i never missed a chance to pull the legs of any of those "bad boys" and to take them for a ride.
so whenever an authority was given to me by my teacher to take care of the class in their absence or just to conduct a quiz, he always used to be my first target.i loved beating him with the wooden scale along with other "bad boys".
Now when i realise that why we hated each other, it's just a simple reason behind it, right from the beggining i was pushed to study, so i did not get a chance to ride cycle or to play on the street like any other child( but no regret as i am still pround of the upbringing, which my parents gave me), perhaps that's the reason why i was jealous with him and he hardly had any boundation that's why he did everything but study thus he had that pain of being bad in studies and a "bad boy". So all in all we were just hating our own shorcomings and not each other.
The above mentioned things i realized later on, not then, because it was childhood, most memorable days of life.however now i'll tell you the day which i just can not forget.I was coming to home from school walking alone and was about to reach my place, when this "bad boy" with another bad boy was passing on a cycle.suddenly he stopped his clycle first and then stopped me and said "saale bahut hero banta hai, kayde se raha kar, nahi to pitega" and another thing i forgot to tell you that he had my collar in his hand. i was about to respond when i saw my older brother coming, my bro just came and gave him just a light slap and said "chal bhaag yahaan se" and he ran away. however he was not the one who gives up and while riding his cycle he just hit me with his water bottle and ran away. i was helpless but again next day i reported this to my class teacher and got him a good treatment.
After this incident rather accident, we were in same class(same as in with each other) for next 3 yrs, however non of even us tried to break the ice in these 3 yrs.
4 yrs after this "collar wala" incident, we both were in 7th std and were quite changed as i was degraded from excellent student to an average student and he had upgraded to an average student from a poor student. That's when we started speaking which each other and by the time we finished 8th std, we were "best buddies" and even after passing out 8th std, when we changed school, just to be with each other we chose the ugliest govt. school so that we can chill out together.he also started coming to my place for tutions.By this time he had fought with so many people for me and i must tell you that he was not my good friend because a good friend never lets you fight with anyone, but it's only your best friend who says "MAAR SAALE KO, MAA BAHEN EK KAR DE ISKI", and that's why he was my best friend.
In 10th std, we bunked college almost everyday and watched countless movies. those days were most beautiful days of my life, he used to come to my house with his bag and we used to just play chess, read "MAHEKTA AANCHAL"(a not so famous urdu magazine) and eating N number of samosas. In the evening, we used to go to out famous "ADDA" and have cigarettes after cigarattes. In brief he used to come to my place at 09:00 AM and leave at 05:00PM and again we used to meet at 06:00PM and used to wander here and there till 10:00PM and that's how we spent next 5 years.
If i talk about studies, in 10th std, out of 5 members of our gang, only three of us could survive the battle , i got 3rd div. and he got 2nd.that's when it was time to part ways as far as the study is concerned, he chose to be a science student and i chose commerce (not because i was interested, but because i had no other choice). he completed his under cover graduation in commerce while persuing the B.Pharma, as he just was never sure that if he would be able to complete his B. Pharma and wanted to make sure that he is atleast a graduate.
Throughout this span of 10 yrs of friendship he never let me down and was always there whenever needed,so many people tried to part us on the basis of bloody religion and so many other things, but he was always there and is still there.
Now he is in final semester of B.Pharma and completed his B.com and he also helps his father in their family business, inspite of being from a rich family he is as simple as one can be.
Whenever i go to my hometown, we still go to that ADDA and spend time their and that ADDA is situated right infront of our first school.
I really miss you IRFAN and love you more than anything and anyone in my life.
i'll be there shortly to re-live those wonderfull days.
allah hafiz
